The Village of Schwall with Julia Henn

Sunday, after our afternoon on the Reine, we took a 5 min. ferry ride across the river to meet my friend Julia. The ferries here do 180°s when they dock. We drove 20 minutes to the quaint village of Schwall (pop. 350). Our time here is spent sitting on the back deck talking and having meals. Julia's parents are very sweet. Her mother picked a new hybrid berry from her garden and made a cake with them. Her father grows corn, wheat and rapseed. the weather is perfect at 26°C. We can see for miles across the fields. There are three cutting-edge windmills on the horizon. We took a short bike ride to Emmelshausen today. This town is a bit bigger than Schwall. We walked around and went in stores. Tomorrow we will go to a market that only happens once a year! We are excited.
