Lunch with Patrick and Lynnde at Sushi Den

Patrick and Lynnde too me out for a lunch fit for a "Princess Birthday" at Sushi Den. Toshi made us the best and the freshest right in front of us. There were things on the menu I don't think I have ever tried before, such as sea cucumbers and sea urchin. After many courses of amazing flavors, I blew out my birthday candle suspended in yummy Bannana cream pie. Merci Beaucoup mes amis!

Vincent Van Snogh

Justine and Kristen decide to make a late night escape through the snow and across the parking lot to get tea at D&Ds. On their way back to home they take advantage of the newly laid white canvas. Out of the snow was born Vincent and a few moments later his ear was chopped off by a passing van. Snogh, B. December 3, 2007 1:15 A.M. - D. December 3, 2007 1:23 A.M.

Shelby's Thanksgiving Leftovers

We are just finishing the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers at the Endicott house. A week of meals makes me feel that all that effort was worth it. I made turkey breast under a brick (a Rachael Ray idea). Luckily, there's plenty of bricks to go around in our area. I also made smashed red potatoes with parmesan cheese, the classic Campbell's green bean casserole, simple vegetarian stuffing, orange zest and honey corn bread, hot apple cider with spices, accompanied by tasty logs of cranberry sauce from a can. Yum.

Ambrotypes!

After months of preporation Sanchez and I made our first wet plate collodion ambrotypes. We are very happy to say the least. There was some jumping up and down and sounds of glee as we turned on the light after fixing.

Bayard Direct Positive

France Scully Osterman visited the Art Institute of Boston today. Christopher James set up a workshop for the class to learn Bayard's Direct Positive Process. France showed us this wonderful process which was introduced by Hippolyte Bayard in May of 1839. I was lucky enough to make this print from a positive transparency.

Grey to the Floor

Grey to the floor,
Fall arms full of polkadots.
Paper flowers hang
from their tented sky.
To the stars she will fly,
In the twinkle of his eye,
She will lie.
On pillows of secrets,
Sleep what feathers are for
Grey to the floor,
Dance lite toes on the
crumbling moon
To Homes and houses,
Blinking boxes of time.

Obama on the Common

My friend Carolyn and I met up at the Boston Common to see Barack Obama. The atmosphere was joyous and full of anticipation as we awaited the man of the hour...and just maybe the man of the decade.
